The Hope for Haiti Now event that aired this past friday (watch them all here) with a star-studded cast including Coldplay, Madonna, Beyonce, Shakira, JayZ + Rihanna and more. Shortly after the telethon ended I wondered to myself ‘how much did they make?!’
I also wondered how Anderson Cooper gets away with reporting huge deal news with only a tshirt on, but that’s for another post. It’s like ‘muscle news’ over there!
According to CNN, Hope for Haiti Now raised $58 million dollars for the relief effort.
After the telethon, a compilation of the live performances were posted up to iTunes to purchase. So, where is all the money going after all?
Proceeds from the telethon will benefit Oxfam America, Partners in Health, the Red Cross, UNICEF, the U.N. World Food Programme, Yele Haiti Foundation and the Clinton Bush Haiti Foundation.
